Our Heritage & Story

Over 35 Years of Southwest Iowa History

CFI was incorporated in 1989 and was started at the present location where a 600 head feedlot had been abandoned in the early 80's. The initial partners were Wendell Volkens, Aaron Vorthmann, and Jeff Clausen. Over the years the feedlot has grown to its present size and has a plan and permit for up to 4000 head total capacity. We have tried to improve through the years and continue to strive for excellence in all we do. We value the relationships we gain through the facility and view them as synergistic to our operation.
