CFI was incorporated in 1989. It was started at the present location where a 600 head feedlot had been abandoned in the early 80's. The initial partners were Wendell Volkens, Aaron Vorthmann, and Jeff Clausen. Over the years the feedlot has grown to its present size and has a plan and permit for up to 4000 head total capacity. We have tried to improve through the years and continue to strive for excellence in all we do. We have always had relationships with our customers, either through retained ownership of cow/calf producers or partnering with order buyers or local farmers. We value these relationships and view them as synergistic to our operation. Our hope is that one day the next generation of cattle feeders will find the place better than what we started with.
